The thing is with long COVID, I have to choose where to spend my spoons.

I can spend my time writing, but there's a cost later.

Like forgetting to put a timer on for bread that's baking.

Brain fog is no fun.

#WearAMask and please folks, campaign for clean air and mask mandates.

I miss the world.

So I ask folks to have a read of what I wrote for fluconf this year.

"I access a non physical world through glass and electricity. I communicate with bursts of light carried through glass cables. "

"We didn't realise that rather than a market garden, we have wandered into a different bounded realm. [..] We made the mistake that our ancestors knew not to do. You never give your real name to the Fae, for Knowing of a true name gives them power over you."

@onepict Referring to the fae made me shiver, but I feel many people are not familiar with stories of the fae and do not understand why they are terrifying. Do you have any sources that you would recommend to establish the fae as a threat and not a cute "fairy tale"?

@skyfaller Well there's the original poem, and the Excellent Lord and Ladies by Terry Pratchett.

Folklore like the Ballad of Tam Lin.

@UnCoveredMyths probably has some links as well.

Funnily enough a couple of modern witchcraft books talk about inviting the fairies into your life. I do not advise this.

Goblin Market

Morning and evening Maids heard the goblins cry: “Come buy our orchard fruits, Come buy, come buy: Apples and quinces, Lemons and oranges, Plump unpeck’d cherries, Melons and raspberries, Bloom-down-cheek’d peaches, Swart-headed mulberries, Wild free-born cranberries, Crab-apples, dewberries,…
