@jsit I keep hoping they’ll be Signal but without having to give them your phone number, but I never hear of anyone using it.
Oh, looks like it's using blockchain tech, which I know is an absolute no-go for a lot of people on here
@jsit idk exactly how it’s using or pitching its “blockchain”, but just hashing a sequence of messages and including the previous hash can look just like one and be a perfectly valid and non-wasteful design choice for such a thing (you could argue git uses something like a blockchain from certain perspectives as well, for example)

Blockchain is not only used to certify cryptocurrency transactions, but also to certify the signing of contracts while respecting the privacy of the parties involved, for example.
Insofar as it guarantees privacy, blockchain should be a tool that appeals to those who seek privacy for their data. The difficulty lies in making this privacy compatible with the existence of a welfare state that guarantees a public sector.

@jsit looks really cool! Do you know what their business model is? I couldn't find info on how they're funding and sustaining their efforts.
