Random question for the fediverse... Have a relative with a SimpliSafe system (old), just door sensors and an alarm. Might need a refresh. Thoughts on open/non subscription replacements? General thoughts? (aside from the fact that security companies seem to prey on little old ladies... when all they do is call the cops if an alarm goes off. 🤨 ) Main requirement is detecting if a door opens and sounding an alarm if nobody hits a keypad or remote. (ie scare the opportunistic burglar sort of thing) #random
