Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Career Development or Resistance?. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

In 2025 MuseumExpert.org has strongly focused on the need for museums to be able to maintain their mission intact, for their staff, their visitors, and their communities. But we did not forget that all measures or Executive Orders have also impacted career development and perspectives. At the beginning of 2026 we plan to discuss the priorities for the coming year and are fortunate to have some incredible panelists to help us frame that conversation. The outcomes will help us design MuseumExpert.org programs for moving forward. Jess Meis, President, and Melissa Pankuchi-Hernandez, Board Member at Large, of NEMPM will present the topic “What does it mean to be a museum professional today?” The National Emerging Museum Professionals Network is the host of Museum Workers Advocacy Day, providing a platform to come together and advocate for industry changes. This year’s Museum Workers Advocacy Day will take place digitally on April 9 and 10. Ann Burroughs is the President and CEO of the Japanese American National Museum and was a panelist in our previous webinar “How do Museums Resist?” She is an internationally recognized leader in the field of human rights. She will review where the field stands in resistance to the current administration’s policies, what is missing, and what might be possible in the future. Walter Staveloz, Founder and President of MuseumExpert.org will lead the conversation about the balance between these two big themes and choices, based on the presentations and opinions of participants.
