#writerscoffeeclub 18th of January: Are you comfortable making your readers uncomfortable? How far will you go?

Yes, but not too far.

With one blatant exception, the main goal of my stories is to bring readers a bit of joy and pleasure in this fucked up world. I don't mind making them uncomfortable to do so, because a secondary goal is making the world a bit less fucked up. That means challenging readers assumptions and expectations, as in Planting Life, where all the characters are agender and the family set up is... unusual, to say the least.

The exception is The Price of Survival Series, which is very much an angst with little/no comfort series, read at your own risk.
