This #genAI Brookings report reminds me of an old insight about #teaching, #socialMedia, etc.

PASSIVE use/consumption is the problem.

ACTIVE, deliberative engagement or learning is superior.

I realized this only a decade ago, but it's a common result.

For example, “passively consuming information about people in our digital social network is linked to lower subjective well-being; conversely, actively broadcasting and exchanging information with people in our digital social network is linked to higher subjective well-being (Verduyn et al. 2017).”
