> The president of the Oglala #Sioux Tribe, based in #SouthDakota, has notified federal officials they must follow treaties and acts that apply to tribe or be subject to legal remedies.

> “The irony is not lost on us,” tribal president Frank Star Comes Out said in the news release. “Lakota citizens who are reported to be held at Fort Snelling– a site forever tied to the Dakota 38+– underscores why treaty obligations and federal accountability matter today, not just in history.”
