@ramsey I've been seeing some issues where images from other servers aren't loading in posts outside my timeline. Is there a status page for phpc.social i could check?
e.g. going here doesn't ever see an image

my instance is a bad one to test, i literally just upgraded from #gotosocial 0.19.1 to 0.20.2 so all bets are off

@ello @preinheimer Yeah, that’s what I’m seeing, too. I didn’t realize it was 403’ing, though.
@ello @preinheimer Sometimes, this could be due to a domain block or limiting media from a domain, but Gemma’s domain has so limitations on it. It could be that our server tried to grab the image and was unable to, so it’s cached a placeholder for it, but that’s just a guess. @ian probably knows more about what’s going on.
@ramsey @preinheimer @ian i wonder if it failed to grab the image back in the mists of time, so it doesn't actually exist in storage, and the 403 is the "it's not here but ain't sayin' nothing" response
@ello @preinheimer @ian 404 should be the the “it’s not here but ain’t sayin’ nothing” response. Using 403 for that would kinda be saying something. 😉
