So, has anybody been talking about revising either or both of BagIt and OCFL so they play nicely together?

Seems to me they really should play nicely together. Their serializations are already quite similar.

@dsalo TBH I was a bit disappointed that OCFL wasn't designed as an extension of BagIt. I assume they had their reasons. Ah well.

@dsalo you probably already know this, but the spec suggests wrapping the Bag https://ocfl.io/1.0/spec/#example-bagit-in-ocfl

@anj I did not know that, actually! Thanks, that's exactly what I needed.

@dsalo oh good! I only went there because I could have sworn I've read a "why not BagIt" thing from the OCFL folks and I was hoping it was in the spec!

@anj @dsalo and the other way works too: wrapping the OCFL directory in a Bag. I believe that "enclose and deposit" was the original thinking @jakkbl had for BagIt--kind of like a Matryoshka doll. But I don't think it gets used that way in practice much?
