Lol. The argument against this bill to charge nj data centers more for electricity is that they will just charge users more for their services.
But people can opt out of AI services and can't opt out of needing electricity.

@stefan but can we opt out of AI everywhere? It seems to be baked into everything now. While some things allow you to opt out, others don't appear to (or at least hide it to where it is not easily found if you re able to).
If there isn't already, and maybe there is & I am unaware, I'd love for feds to mandate that everything has an opt out for AI. but the feds passing any legislation is unlikely
@BlowUpRadio your just not going to convince me it's harder to stop paying for AI then it is to stop using electricity
@stefan not trying to, but I wish it was easier to not have AI in things I don't need it in.
In the same way kitchen appliances do not need to be wifi connected.
