Today I have to thank Mr. Trump. His erratic behaviour was most likely the final push the EU needed to finally, after 25(!) years of negotiations and at times ridiculous protests by farmers and the far-right (which will continue, alas), we are ready to sign the #MERCOSUR agreement. Yay!

@jwildeboer that's not whataboutism if it's still relevant to the main topic, and willful omission of the left-side opposition in your description feels like a disingenuous attempt to taint and discredit the whole opposition by association.
If not intentional, I encourage you to acknowledge the wider opposition more clearly.

@ddelemeny My comment specifically talked about the at times ridiculous protests staged by farmers and the far-right. That is clearly a vers specific group. You decided to twist my words in interpreting it in a way that I MUST also mean ALL protests against MERCOSUR. That is disingenuous, to put it mildly. And now you more or less demand I acknowledge wider opposition or else. Welcome to my blocklist!

I believe your comments are certainly well informed by some sense of superiority or something, but I can tell you that from where I am, French agricultural region quite leftists in the basque country, we are very much protesting against this Mercosur agreement that goes against all interests of the local agriculture, and even more against all the the struggles we have led for decades against GMOs and Pesticides
