In 1938 Hitler and the United Kingdom, France and Italy reached an agreement about the Nazi German annexation of Sudetenland, a part of Czechoslovakia. It was the lowest point in underestimating Hitler. We all know how it ended.

If U.S. citizens elect non-extremist politicians, the worst might not materialize.
