I think Mark Kelly will be the next democratic presidential candidate. Everything Trump is not, Kelly is. Everyone who sees a coward in Trump will see a hero in Mark Kelly.

He will not move MAGA die hards — no one will — but he offers something exceptional which many voter groups will value.

I think Mark Kelly would be our answer to PM Carney - establishment enough to get votes, too establishment to get anything changed.

@randahl LOL I like that you think we're gonna have another presidential election. Doesn't even look like we're gonna get a proper midterm.

If we do tho, better Mark Kelly than Gavin Newsom. I'd rather have the astronaut than the corporate shill

There's not enough infrastructure in the Democrats.

Schumer for example and the 8 senators that voted with Republicans to terminate the healthcare system in the USA are Democrats.

Up Next: The so-called "press" in USA running headlines like "Are democrats ready for a military president?" and "Is this more integrity than the voters want?"

USA is a failed state.

@randahl

I've heard him speak many times.
Mark Kelly is a wise, steady, worthy candidate who would take his service to citizens very seriously.

I just hope there's an election so that he can run.

My money however is on Trump abolishing all future elections including the midterms. Remember when he said at a rally in 2024 that if people voted for him in Nov they'd "never have to vote again"? He means it - guaranteed.

He is trying to stay a 3rd term, illegally, then pass the baton to a family member as in a dynasty.

If you graph how progressive the candidate is on the X-axis and how vindictive they are on the Y-axis, then I want the maximum area created by that rectangle.

You could have the most progressive candidate we've ever seen, but who says they want the country to heal and won't go after Trump and his enablers and I would fight against them.

It doesn't matter how progressive the next president is, if another Trump can rise up and undo it all.

@randahl I don't think there will be elections anymore. And if there will be, they will be rigged by #trump and the #republicans.

Whoever the #democrat candidate will be he/she won't stand a chance IMO. They will make sure.

@randahl @abulling

States and municipalities run elections in the US. A few dozen can certainly be manipulated but 50% of a country with over 3000 counties? That is too complex for any regime and there just aren’t enough MAGA pretend soldiers to shut down all of the polling places.

Andreas what you are saying: "there won't be elections anymore" is called premature capitulation

trump expresses a desire, and you promptly act like it is already reality

nevermind all of the rational reasons why you are wrong

this instinct of yours is unfathomably weak willed and compliant

it's compliance through fear

but not even overt visceral fear

but simply willing to give up everything and not vote on merely a concept appearing on the horizon

@tropicalchaos @benroyce @syferdet @randahl @abulling too many peoples’ cynicism has led to them swallowing the propaganda that says all is lost, so give up. This is why I think it’s so important to join a cause, and work, in-person when possible, directly with other people — it really helps cut through the cynicism.
