I got very serious, looked him in the eye, and said “I wish we had, but we just don’t have that kind of power.” The dude gave me a look of pure fear.
In retrospect, I probably should have started making moves to move abroad then.
Anyway the Biden admin’s failure to meaningfully punish Trump over this attempted coup was one of the most confoundingly counterproductive decisions in US history and will probably go down as the nail in the coffin on this country. I still don’t understand it lol
Remember that Biden went on TV in orange makeup but wouldn’t prosecute Trump for doing illegal stuff. This might not be because the Democrats are fucking losers who would rather ape Republicans than do anything useful, but I can’t think of any other explanation.
I don’t think the two parties are equivalent, but I do think that the Democrats achieve Republican policy goals a lot more frequently than the Republicans do.
