1. click on a GitHub issue link in my search results
2. click on a pull request link in that issue comment thread
3. ???
4. PROFIT!1!!

These were the only two actions related to GitHub originating from my IP address over the last several hours.

This is bullshit.

I am going to bet the rate limits got bumped due to LLM scraping. Fscking clowns. 🤡

GitHub is not a serious code foundry.
Microsoft is not a serious company.

@rysiek
Microsoft is serious about making $$$$$ but hasn't provided any real value to end users in 20 years.

They buy things and turn it into steaming piles of shit like LinkedIn and Github they provide us today.

MSFT been enshittified to the max. (If you get that reference, if not check out "Enshittification" by @pluralistic )

Side note: I'm excited more and more FOSS projects are moving to Codeberg.

@rysiek putting the complete irony of github putting LLM rate limits, is this rate limit applied to signed-in users? That's a choice...

@rysiek @sturmsucht For no reason at all, I just heard the song “Smooth Operator” play in my head, with the lyric “Smooth Sloperator” instead.

Reminder – 30% of all Microsoft code is now AI slop:
https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/29/satya-nadella-says-as-much-as-30percent-of-microsoft-code-is-written-by-ai.html

Quality you can really smell from a distance. 💩

@rysiek Must be related to Microsoft's "security before features" mandate from what was it, two years ago?

It was 'funny' the other day hearing a MS distinguished engineer say they expect an employee to crank out a million LoC in a month..
