The deeply #neurodivergent wish for there to be some kind of social signal or hand gesture (or emoji, in text) to add to a question, signaling that one is sincerely asking for understanding about something (that is maybe obvious to others), in a way that means, "Explain this to me like I'm from another planet. I'm not trolling, mocking, or playing the wise ass (despite past data, lol)."
Maybe I just learn the ASL for "earnest" and then insert that when needed. And hope it catches on. :)
