I'm close to muting everyone who posts/boosts a sweeping "GenAI doesn't work at all ever, and can't" statement ...
... alongside everyone who claims they work *great* and doesn't mention their ethics (or lack thereof).
I'm guessing my feed would be very empty afterwards.
@larsmb I mean yeah sometimes you get working stuff but that's accidental - in practice I'd say one must consider humans are super bad at staying alert 100% of the time, so "gotta audit all LLM output" isn't feasible, which leaves me with the question of "well for what definition does it really work then?"
because of that I consider LLMs a total dead end in the "can't ever work" sense, of course that doesn't rule out future developments (IMHO e.g. cyc is way more promising but also abandoned)
