In the wee morning or late evening, cycling to and from work, I always meet other cyclists here in Stavanger, Norway. Winter, snow and windy, autumn, rain and windy, summer, hot and windy (or rainy), I am never alone cycling. Children, men and women, old and elderly, and parents - they all cycle.



And when I show this photo I think you understand why. I live in a town I feel emphases safe cycling. It has twice been elected The Cycle City of the year, and municipals both north and south of my town are also famous for their friendliness towards cyclists (Randaberg and Sandnes).



This is what they based their election on: «Stavanger Municipality has been named Norway's best cycling city because it scores highest on safety, access to cycle paths and because residents experience that the municipality prioritizes cycling.»
