Reactionary extremists like Vought/Vance/Trump hate #science, democracy, and accountability so much that they struggle greatly with facts and coherence.
That's why empty people like Lawrence Krauss are so valuable to the reactionary enterprise.
Normal people don't support destroying science and the academy. But with a big enough web of lies, some will.
