Every move Trump made to consolidate power in 2025 reminded me of something I have seen before. So I decided to investigate the historic parallels, and what I found will shock you. In this video I explain how meticulously Trump has copied the fascist playbook, and why Trump will ultimately fail.

@randahl I hope you're right. The one caveat I would like to mention is that Trump's attempt to do it all in months rather than the years it took Hitler and the Nazis might dovetail just that little bit too conveniently with the abysmally short attention span of so many people these days.

@randahl congratulations Randahl, very well made video! I wish you could have opened it with different quote 'though. Russel was a very smart man, but we know so much more about the rise and supporters of fascism, compared to 1940. Unfortunately, many smart people support fascist regimes. I tend to agree with the thinkers who call fascism a colonialism turned inwards, and who think that fascism is an inevitable side effect of capitalism. I'm too hopeful that the regime will suffer a major blow at midterms, but the opposition has a very weak platform, I'm afraid the reasons why Americans support Trump won't be addressed.

@randahl Great video Randhal. I think though that even if the voters decide to oust republicans and supporters of #trump , the wannabe dictator will just get his 'personal' justice dept to rule those elections null and void, and it wouldn't suprise me if there were 'trumped' up charges against election officials.
There have been a number of opportunities to vote him / his party out, but time and time again he and his elite remain in power.
@randahl It is an illusion to think that everything will go back to normal if Trump disappeares from the scene. The relation between the EU and the US is changed for good and we (the EU) must transform to a global power to resit the world according to autocrats.
@saalbers I think you are right. Europe has been taught a lesson. But internally in the US, the midterms in 2026 is still an important opportunity for the future of democracy. In fact, I think it is make or break.
@randahl Midterms are indeed an important moment. However the question is, if Trump will accept the outcome if the Republicans loose. We all know what happened January 6 2021

I wouldn’t describe the Vikings as fascists. Yes, they were militaristic and glorified war, used violence against outsiders, and expanded through conquest. However, there was no central state, only loose chieftainships, and chieftains were elected or accepted through assemblies. Viking societies adhered to the rule of law, and there was no unified ideology or formal ideology of supremacy. Control over the economy and society was mostly local and private.

@randahl @drahardja The problem is not IF Donald Trump fails; is WHEN, and HOW, which damages his plans will cause to the nation and, unfortunately, to the world. Am I too negative? Who knows, but I fear that we won't manage to fight him with dialogue and votes. He and his "yes-men" have too much money, power, propaganda even with kids. I have seen some cartoons with propaganda too
Among all my videos, I feel this one carries the most important analysis, because it explains the fascist methods of the Trump regime, to enable us to fight back against the forces of evil.
I hope every one of you will help me get the message out by sharing this video.

Boosted. I don't normally boost videos I haven't watched yet, and this one is too long for watching during a family visit, but this time I've made an exception.
@leeloo honestly, I feared putting out a new video during the holidays, for exactly that reason: Many of us are on family visits.
But it seems to be doing well, closing in on 7K views already.
Maybe the family visits leads to fewer views, while at the same time, many being on vacation leads to more views.
@randahl Indeed, a great video! Awesome editing, clarity of message etc. You're definitely doing everything right and I hope you get the recognition as well :)
(but I'm not as certain as you that there will be free elections in 2026)
