The GMB union has now gained over £1bn in compensation payments for gender-based wage discrimination in local councils & is not yet finished with the claims (another 10,000 look to be launched in 2026).
Its great news for the women gaining the compensation for under-payment & shows why unions (the collective organisation of labour) is necessary & also why our political class are not keen on supporting the revival of workers' right to organise.
