I figured out #Google was awful before everyone else just because I was immersed in the domain.
Even if I had more confidence I was right I'd still have lost my friends who worked there.
Social stuff is hard.

@CartyBoston My younger coworkers at Google were shocked when I decided to leave. Even if they weren't all convinced Google was "good" they were certainly happy to spend the rest of their careers there.
Pretty sure all have since been laid off.
