The way that we often frame the question of privacy is wrong. Many ask "Do you have anything to hide?" when the question should really be "Do you have anything to show?"

Do you have anything you desperately want to show the government, corporations, random strangers, and your worst enemies?

The answer might sometimes be yes, but truly think how often you're begging for these entities to have such personal data. I'm going to take a bet and say that for most things, the answer will be that you're not. For each of those things you don't desperately want these entities to see, you need to seriously consider your privacy.
