Last pot of the year! I made a second version of the terracotta amaryllis vase at the request of a neighbor. He and his wife are also craftspeople—she makes #pottery and he fashions highly polished wood lids to fit her vessels. This will be her Christmas gift. I offered to deliver it to their home so that I can peek inside their studio.

Since this is the second iteration of this design, I tweaked a couple of details. Iteration is how potters make progress. Can you spot the differences?

A beautifully crafted ceramic vase featuring an ornate floral design in shades of brown and green, with a fluted top and textured accents. The background is a simple, neutral color that highlights the vase's intricate details. The vase is decorated with terra sigillata made with clay from Alabama, New Mexico and Arizona.
