Three kosher Hanukkiyot sit on a small square oilcloth-covered kitchen-dining-living room table. One is small and a very traditional design in brass. Another is brutalist forged iron in a flattened version of the traditional shape. A third displays a row of sitting dogs in front of the candle holders. In the background is my kitchen cupboards and floor. I cleaned the house today and the dogs haven’t had a chance to make dirty footprints all over everything. In the foreground is my daughter’s pincushion, which I hope to heck she’ll finally put away tonight.
