I'm involved in the running of a small but popular local makerspace, and we recently had a management meeting where I put "AI pledge" on the agenda.
I was proposing that we put a thing on our website promising that we don't use generative AI in any of our running of the makerspace, PR or otherwise. I wrote a really long bullet point list of reasons, with loads of articles and studies to evidence my beliefs.
There were five other people there, some very techy and some tech-averse/-allergic. I was fully expecting some debate or at least some discussion. But I didn't even get to ask if people wanted to discuss, every single person interrupted me simultaneously and unanimously like, "yep, do it, didn't even read what you wrote in advance for the agenda but bring it on, absolute yes, go."
So, maybe it's gonna be okay.
