Being black on the fediverse is like being black in the pacific northwest.

There are some safe places, outside of those, things can turn hostile incredibly quickly.

There are lots of well meaning white people, but precious few that will actually do the work to understand the simple words that you're trying to share with them.

There is an overall, institutional lack of willpower to *do* anything to fix the negative environment for black folks.

And, ultimately, it can slowly chip away at you.
