@catsalad the previous websites i actively avoided got shut down so right now i'm blocking uindex.org – no idea who's running it, but they're so bad at their job they haven't even put in any pretty banners, and despite numerous attempts i haven't found any malware either. Will keep looking.

I am old school - so just found via search engine simply by looking for streaming the community with the same name.. they change their address every 3 days only holding streamingcommunity dot whatsoever

An unscrupulous individual could find lots of #StarTrek movies & episodes on https://dailymotion.com & watch without even having the basic corporate decency to log in. They would only rack up ad impressions. Very sad.

It may work in non tor browser too so be sure to block the most popular torrent site url.

Tor is required in some countries as they responsiblely block that pirate torrent.

I mean you would not want to see all those brand new pirate movies, tv shows, audio books, text book, anime.

@catsalad as a european, be sure to keep peer connections enabled in your browser so should you accidentally land on a streaming site, rights holders can track your IP and send you a costly C&D. this will keep you honest.

@catsalad make sure your computer does not have qbittorrent installed, it comes with a search function that indexes a large number of known piracy sites, making it very easy to accidentally download copyrighted material

@catsalad luckily you don't have to do all that work. There are github ripos that collect all the sites that are still up and give you an up to date list. They give them weird sarcastic names like 'awesome-piracy'

I don't trust the lists. They could be full of punitive links that aren't really bad. So, I have an automated system that searches these sites and downloads files so I can manually evaluate their sins.

@catsalad I don't know about sites, but definitely don't use Soulseek. I once accidently installed Nicotine+ which as it turns out is a Soulseek client, and I had to report myself for it.
