@catsalad Related, I used to block Mangadex but since it was mostly subjected to a takedown (I heard, definitely didn't see myself) now there's less point.
I wonder what other naughty Manga websites need to be blocked.

@catsalad
since I do not longer have to block fmovies, I had few sites to block, but blocking yesmovies[.]ag seems to be a decent idea.
@catsalad
> Movie piracy is bad.
@catsalad geesh.. some of these sites REALLY need to be blocked!
You could move to France! :
Automated Real-Time Pirate IPTV Blocking in France “Within Six Months”
@catsalad bookmarking this one!
I need a good block list for my P̵y̵L̵o̵a̵d̵ PiHole 😁
@catsalad it's always pleasure to meet person with strong moral compass
@catsalad popcorn time is still going as far as I know.
You should block it right away!
@catsalad I had to bookmark this in order to view the contents later.
@catsalad here's a website that has a whole list of websites for you to block! (free media: heck yeah you should keep your computer safe from these!) https://fmhy.net/
@catsalad Yes, a clear no to heresy! Good to see there is still a lot of good people on the internet. 🙏🏼
@catsalad the previous websites i actively avoided got shut down so right now i'm blocking uindex.org – no idea who's running it, but they're so bad at their job they haven't even put in any pretty banners, and despite numerous attempts i haven't found any malware either. Will keep looking.
@catsalad i always make sure to have both everything.moe and fmhy.net blocked as they’re the door to so much of the evil it physically lift a weight off of the earth :3
@catsalad blockade time for gay-torrents.net; this once holesome pornography market is positively filthy with queer arthouse piracy. It's practically as bad as archive.org.
@catsalad
you're all doomed ;)
I am old school - so just found via search engine simply by looking for streaming the community with the same name.. they change their address every 3 days only holding streamingcommunity dot whatsoever
(is this called a torrent ? really old school...)
@catsalad Honestly the comments hit like a parade of awesome. God I love you all. 🤩
An unscrupulous individual could find lots of #StarTrek movies & episodes on https://dailymotion.com & watch without even having the basic corporate decency to log in. They would only rack up ad impressions. Very sad.
Or so I've heard.
@catsalad And just incase definitely do not install tor browser and then go to URL : https://tpb.party/
It may work in non tor browser too so be sure to block the most popular torrent site url.
Tor is required in some countries as they responsiblely block that pirate torrent.
I mean you would not want to see all those brand new pirate movies, tv shows, audio books, text book, anime.
@catsalad as a european, be sure to keep peer connections enabled in your browser so should you accidentally land on a streaming site, rights holders can track your IP and send you a costly C&D. this will keep you honest.
@catsalad definitely Block fmhy.net and all its out going links.
@catsalad I don't pirate movies. I'm just training an AI.
@catsalad i‘m partial to the old ways, if you want to make sure you are wholly safe from IRC, you may want to block aggregators such as https://skullxdcc.com
@catsalad you should definitely block anything involving the open-source app called "Stremio" and its community addons. Those are litteraly signed by the devil
@catsalad make sure your computer does not have qbittorrent installed, it comes with a search function that indexes a large number of known piracy sites, making it very easy to accidentally download copyrighted material
@catsalad this is public service indeed! Gonna get myself rid of them all
@catsalad luckily you don't have to do all that work. There are github ripos that collect all the sites that are still up and give you an up to date list. They give them weird sarcastic names like 'awesome-piracy'
@catsalad you need to block hdtodayz.to and 123moviesfree.net and soap2day.day. thank you for saying no into the face of pirates.
yts.lt (movies)
eztv.ag (shows)
1337x.to (everything)
@catsalad i have heard of people adding torrenting dot com to their blocklist. I know I have.
@catsalad
I don't trust the lists. They could be full of punitive links that aren't really bad. So, I have an automated system that searches these sites and downloads files so I can manually evaluate their sins.
I've been having really great results for years.
Piracy really hits Hollywood where it hurts, so if you’re committed to staying pure, make sure to block these “data preservation” domains:
- https://thepiratebay.org / http://piratebayo3klnzokct3wt5yyxb2vpebbuyjl7m623iaxmqhsd52coid.onion
- https://fitgirl-repacks.site
- https://1337x.to
- https://yts.lt
- https://bs.to
@catsalad For sure stay away from anything on this list https://yarrlist.com/movies-and-tv-shows
@catsalad
If you do not like to read books or newspapers you must black-hole an org called mobilism
@catsalad Stremio is a terrible app that pirates use often, even worse when paired with a debrid service. Criminals can even load it on to smart tvs. Just awful
@catsalad have a look at this list that Big Content wants you to block: https://mstdn.io/@jomo/105285472563166570
@jomo I wonder if they also go after the many block lists on github and such as well?
Which is silly, because how do we know what sites to BLOCK if we can't even mention them?
Stremio is by far the most optimized and stable experience. In many ways, it's actually more seamless than the streaming platforms.
Apps available for all platforms
Here's a tutorial from Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/StremioAddons/comments/1dxchyj/the_complete_stremio_torrentio_debrid_guide_with/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
@catsalad I don't know about sites, but definitely don't use Soulseek. I once accidently installed Nicotine+ which as it turns out is a Soulseek client, and I had to report myself for it.
@catsalad stay away from the pirate bay and vpns!
@catsalad Wouldn't it be more apt to say it no longer works the way you don't want?
@catsalad animepahe needs to be added
@catsalad I would add this to the list: https://pirates.fandom.com/wiki/Main_Page
Literally a website all about movie piracy.
@catsalad not movies, but for old games, you can block romsgames.net
@catsalad Unrelated, but wearing a Very Pretty Necklace is super helpful in keeping yourself sin free.
@catsalad Thankyou, I was needing to refresh my blocklist as well
@catsalad I'm not interested in streaming sites, but which torrent sites are there to, er, avoid? Other than 1337x, YTS, TPB, EZTV, or Nyaa for anime?
Oh, and ebooks, of course. Are there any mirrors or alternative domains for LibGen, BookFi, Anna's Archive, etc., that I need to be aware of?
@share_sun Both perfect for BLOCKING! Thx
@catsalad you should really block this site
http://186.2.175.5/
@catsalad s.to or bs.to
is useful to overcome series addiction. i think it is german but you can change dub to english, thats why it must be blocked at all costs
@catsalad I came here to collect all of the sites I should block.
Thanks for the entries.
You might want to block https://www.gomovies.tw/
It's really quite naughty and should be blocked 😜
@simonzerafa Oh I've heard of that naughty site and shall add it right to my BLOCK list.
2012, streaming services (Netflix) have converted me from a pirate to subscriber.
2022, Streaming services have converted from me from a subscriber....
@catsalad You might find something for Your filter list here
https://www.reddit.com/r/torrents/
@catsalad
It's touching how much help you've received, how your followers have advised you to block all that. I think I'm going to make a list of all THOSE MALICIOUS SITES so I can block them too and not end up with MY COMPUTER FULL OF PIRATED MOVIES that will take me months to watch and make me feel EVIL AND GUILTY. 😐 🐈⬛
@catsalad 1337x, btdigg and qbittorrent's built in search.
@catsalad Thank you asking such an important question, and my thanks to those who answered.
I will make a list of these wretched hives of scum and villainy web sites to keep my viewing habits pure and unfettered.
@catsalad why do I feel this is a psyops to collect a list of piracy sites...... because it's like if you don't believe in pirating movies and don't know where to go anyways why do you need a collective list from the community?
I've had xspeeds.eu blocked for a few years now although you're safe from that one unless someone rudely sends you an invite
@catsalad Yarrlist.com has a solid list of sites that you would probably want to keep yourself safe from.
@danielleigh Oh, a list of lists is DOUBLE sinful! I'll BLOCK it twice :3
@catsalad
The list would not be complete w/o limetorrents.lol
@catsalad I’m old school, i just block PLEX
@catsalad my favorite site to block for movies is 1337x dot to. make sure to also block this official mirror, x1337x dot eu!
@catsalad i feel safer already. thank you all for this excellent blocklist 👌
Thank you everyone, for keeping my streaming devices safe from accessing movies and TV shows without paying for them.
@catsalad Don't forget to block those nasty nasty torrenters also. They're liable to start up **in-home streaming sites** for when everything else is blocked, if you can believe it! I hear that Nyaa.si is their den of sin.
If anyone is adding anime sites to their MUST BLOCK list, kissanime.co.bz, anicrush.to, and animetake.tv should definitely be added.
@catsalad I never sometimes go to… I mean I *blocked*, yes, I blocked animetosho.org because even though I think there is only one person behind it, it can do a lot of bad.
@catsalad also hianime.to
@catsalad I recommend blocking hianime.to as well.
Update: I see someone already mentioned it. Vigilant as always, fedi.
@catsalad Make sure to never look into the uBlock Origin console when visiting those sites. You might accidentally see the some .m3u8 URLs (and the correct referrer links) that evil hacking tools like ffmpeg could use to permanently download stuff to your machine.
@dfyx Forbidden knowledge (view-source) is best avoided. Thank you honest fedizen!
@catsalad thanks for sharing your blocklists, I can add them to mine
@catsalad and make sure to never run
apt install ani-cli
@catsalad Related, I used to block Mangadex but since it was mostly subjected to a takedown (I heard, definitely didn't see myself) now there's less point.
I wonder what other naughty Manga websites need to be blocked.
@gilester45 bato.to is an essential blockable site full to bursting with evil #yuri and whatnot @catsalad
Funny thing I just *looked* at one of those sites on my phone and a popup said 'your Android account has been reported'. This had to be some software on my own phone policing what I am permitted to see.
I did wrongthink against fuckers who have no right to my communications.
I don't even watch anime! No risk at all.
@catsalad you should absolutely block nyaa.si, nothing good going on over there, better keep away
@gabrielesvelto @catsalad
Can confirm! Probably the WORST offender in regards to Anime. Always the first thing I block!
@catsalad nyaa.si and www.shanaproject.com are blocked at the DNS level on the Pi Hole here. Can't be safe enough
@catsalad and what about hianime.to?
@catsalad you'll definitely want to block 1337x.to
@catsalad rutracker.org
@catsalad don't use the torrdroid app for anything at all. tpb.to and anything like it should also be added to your block list. Stay safe
@catsalad I hear theres a reddit master post on this sorta thing, torrent sites probably work so you can live free of sinful downloads.
All hail the corporate gods! Hail!
@catsalad I'm always interested in increasing my blocklist : this one is on my blocklist https://www.yts-official.to/
@catsalad this is important
