I think I had a pretty traditional shitty Asian childhood with a little added physical and emotional abuse. It’s not uncommon in our culture - distant dad and overwhelmed mom. But damn, it still hurts when I hear about others’ parents who were just normal and caring; even after so much therapy! #trauma
