Did you know that there’s a streaming movie and TV show app that costs nothing and has no ads, just need to log in with your library card (if you don’t have one you can probably get one instantly online from your local library).
Available in tons of countries as well.

@thomasfuchs The library of the town I'm in doesn't support Kanopy, although all the surrounding towns do. I might see if I can get a card for one of those other libraries.
There's also app called Hoopla that's also available with a library subscription. It's a bit limited. For example you can only watch three TV episodes a month. It would take five years to watch The Walking Dead, for example!

The search function is pretty lame in Kanopy. Can’t find anything specific, like movies from a specific director, without scrolling for days.
@thomasfuchs OO, thanks. My local library system dropped Kanopy a while ago. However another library I use that permits reciprocal membership *does* still enable Kanopy. So I just switched my library affiliation to that one.

@thomasfuchs it's sadly not available through my library (Athens Regional libraries within the Pines library network in the American state of Georgia). You mention it's available in a lot of countries as well -- is it possible to have an account without a library?

I’ve been told, and personally verified, that Kanopy has what your local library system puts in there. Everyone doesn’t have access to the same material.
Hoopla, on the other hand provides the same collection to everyone who has access funded by their local library.

The same is true for hoopla and libby/overdrive if your library provides access to them.
Kanopy, hoopla, and libby make a ton of money from the libraries.
