Billionaires emit a million times more greenhouse gases than the average person.

2022 OxFam study found that wealthiest individuals’ investments account for up to 70% of their emissions, producing an average of 3 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per person, per year. This is a million times higher than the average 2.76 tons of CO2 for those living in the bottom 90%.
