Surveying over 5,000 people in the UK and US, researchers found 72% and 82% support, respectively, for a transformative plan including scaling down unnecessary production, reducing inequality, and democratizing the economy. The findings challenge the notion that these ideas are too radical, highlighting that popular will exists, but political power remains the key obstacle.
