STAR OF PEACE (2002)
Acrylic on Panel - 18” x 12”
The holidays are a magical time when we allow ourselves to set aside cynicism and doubt. It’s just a simple star aglow in the winter sky, but we look to it with hope and in it we see what is possible in this world.
Background detail from STAR OF PEACE featuring a view down a lighted path through snow covered evergreen trees to the water beyond.
Figure detail from STAR OF PEACE featuring a woman in a plain white gown sits on a rock with her hands resting on her lap. A dove takes perch on her finger as she glances over snow covered trees to a distant star in the night sky. A globe of a paper lantern hangs above her from the bare branches of a birch tree.

A globe of a paper lantern hangs above her from the bare branches of a birch tree. At the foot of the rock, small candles line a path that meanders through snowy grass and leads to a break in the trees to water beyond.
