You're looking at a picture of a typical Kiwi walking/tramping track. The image has been taken from someone crouching down, so the truly stupendous knot of mossy of tree roots crossing the track can be appreciated. If we were measuring the size of these roots in Hobbits, each one would be about the length of one Hobbit or more, and some of them are just as round. In between the roots is a bunch of pleasantly brown leaf litter. Either side of the track is a wall of spindly trees and fern trees, so that it feels like you're completely surrounded by greenery. You know looking at this track that it would smell deliciously earthy. The air would be full of the peeps of a small bird trying to convince the photographer to keep moving so more bugs are scared into the air. There would be a faint rustle of a breeze through the trees and ferns around you, the rush of a river nearby and off in the very distance the sound of a tiny human saying, "Hi Hi!" to everyone she passes. Just looking at this picture, you know this would be your happy place if you could just sit here for a few minutes, enjoy a cup of tea from your thermos and maybe eat a sandwich, because your fish and chip lunch was mysteriously stolen by your very sneaky, not seagull shaped, partner while you went to get sunscreen from the car.
