#ScribesAndMakers What creative projects do you hope to work on this month?
The most rare and unique project came up for me this month. My first professional comic book writing sale was a Conan story in 1979 in Savage Sword of Conan. It was written from the point of view of a woman that must call upon Conan for rescue from a sorcerer. In the end, she has the chance to go with Conan or return to her tightly controlled life as a high priestess. She lacks the courage to go with Conan. The story concludes with the priestess telling this story to her daughter, so that her daughter can make her own choice to stay or go with a man she loves.
The Conan IP has been acquired by a company that has given me the most wonderful opportunity to write a follow-up story about that girl, Conan's daughter, and what happened to her. I've already submitted the story outline and I can't wait to dive into the story, 46 years later. Yowza.
