A more minor thing, but one that still bugs me: Trump, for all his bluster about the shootings of the guard troops he sent to DC, has remained at Mar-a-Lago this whole time. He won't return to Washington until Sunday.
He never returned to visit the bedside of Specialist Beckstrom before she died. He hasn't visited Sergeant Wolfe. He hasn't personally offered comfort or gratitude to their families or performed any of the usual post-tragedy gestures of leadership.
Instead, today he went golfing.

You are looking for humanity where it does not exist. He knew this would happen, and will use it to justify more violence, but he cares about no one but himself.
@mattblaze I think its more likely that the people who move him around know his combination of sociopathy and dementia means visiting grieving families or sick people would do more harm than good to everyone.
@mattblaze Also says a lot about how OLD, WEAK AND FRAIL he is, opting to cheat at golf rather than spend what little energy he can muster to take advantage of a photo op that he would have gleefully used in the past to prop himself up while throwing red meat to his inbred worshippers.

@mattblaze prolife Trump expressed no respect to the families of the Guard troops, but he did add to surveillance and restrictions on 19 countries, almost all predominantly black. Trump didn't just bluster. He escalated resegregation of immigration, rolling back MLK'S legacy some more.
@mattblaze He lacks any genuine empathy. He's always been entirely about himself.
Would his doing any of those things meaningfully help? Maybe not. But his failure to even act like he regards the lives under his command as being worthy of his time sends a very clear message.

We all know that he lacks empathy, and perhaps any capacity for it. But that makes it no less shocking.
And the fact that not a single one of his advisors was in a position to say "you need to get back to Washington right away", is telling by itself.
