Vaccines alone are not enough.

Study of #COVID19 vaccine effectiveness (VE) against hospitalization in adults over 60 in 2024/25:

“VE was 42% 14-59 days post-vaccination, 32% at 60-119 days, and 36% at 120-179 days, and no effect thereafter. “

Less than 50% effective in the first two months. No effect after 179 days. (I have seen studies suggesting vaccination may provide SOME protection against Long COVID.)

That doesn't suggest vaccination isn't important. It still offers partial and fading protection against infection and hospitalization, and some studies find it lowers the risk of Long COVID. But, this study should tell us that vaccinations alone are not sufficient.
