Interesting side effects of the #CloudFlare outage:
@wild1145 reported earlier that MastodonApp.UK and Universeodon won't be showing images in posts (and account avatars) for the duration because (glossing over the details) they go through CloudFlare.
The same arrangement seems to be true for Mastodon.Scot, which is also up but sans images.
Alt text is very important even for the fully sighted, today. Sad to say, there are even posts even under the #CloudFlare hashtag that are entirely images without any alt text, which are coming up as just a username beside a greyish box and "Hide" over another greyish box.
There are going to be many top tips from today, but one of them is: please remember your #AltText. It really is not some niche thing.
