I went to the Royal!* Mostly for the bird show but also stumbled across the alpaca contest by chance. Took tons of photos, here are just a few. Now, nap.
* the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Agricultural_Winter_Fair).
A white Silkie chicken (with more visible in the cages around it). It is extremely fluffy and its head looks like a pompom. It is facing away from the camera, though it's hard to tell.
A black iridescent duck with a wig-like tuft of feathers on its head, sitting in a sawdust-lined cage.
A grey German Beauty homer pigeon with a very large cere (the fleshy part at the base of the beak) staring directly ahead at the camera with a "do you have games on your phone?"-type expression.
Competitors lead impeccably groomed alpacas around in a fenced enclosure in a large indoor space hung with blue banners and filled with temporary livestock stalls. In the front is an announcer in a suit.
