I finally read and fount out what the heck "Robotech" is.
It's a mashup of Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA, edited together to meet the requirements for syndication in the USA, fitting a certain format so that they could show advertisements to kids.

So that's why Robotech keeps popping up when I search for Macross.
