"The National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) began a 48-hour encampment at the Chamber of Deputies demanding the repeal of the 2019 education reform and the current pension system, and denouncing the federal government's failure to comply with agreements.
"Early in the morning, teachers began a day of protests demanding better working and educational conditions. Upon arriving at the National Palace, police behind a wall of metal fences threw irritating powder at the teachers, who were trying to enter the premises."
