Thanks to KiwiBank selling off their KiwiSaver scheme to Fisher Funds, I'm now inadvertently investing in a range of disgusting corporate activities, including animal torture, fossil fuel mining, and fucking Meta and Uber;

Does anyone know of a KiwiSaver fund that doesn't invest in animal torture, fossil fuels or technofascism?
@strypey pathfinder is great! It has an ethics clause by which it adheres to. Animal testing, war, fossil fuels are all excluded from investing. For questionable assets that don’t strictly adhere to the policy, they will often send out a surgery to their customers. After the special rapporteur to Gaza released a statement condemning Microsoft and others I got sent an email about it. We’re still waiting on the outcome for that. https://pathfinder.kiwi/

Not only do I not want to help fund the activities of tech companies like this, any fund exposed to them will tank when the #MOLE Training bubble bursts. Not a great investment right now.

According to @lightweight Simplicity has a fund that doesn't;
@strypey @karel to be fair, though, that's a defensive fund. There is at least one fund provider working on a system where you can choose to eliminate any specific investments you want, so it'd allow a 'no-US-BigTech' option via customisation. Not sure when that'll be available, though. I'm hanging out for it.

Yep, we need them to recognise "Big Tech" as an 'issue of concern' that people might want to exclude alongside the guns/oil/alcohol/porn etc.
Using Mindful Money's criteria an example would be Pathfinder Global Responsibility Fund - zero companies of concern, yet in top 5 investments we find Microsoft, Nvidia,Apple, Broadcom,Alphabet
(Note that MM does include e.g. Meta and Uber under Human Rights Violations)

So I've heard. I've made a couple of attempts to sign up via their website, but so far with no success.
@strypey @futuresprog that's where my Kiwisaver is these days, but in my experience they consider US BigTech to be 'ethical'. So, yeah, they're not switched on enough to retain my custom if/when anything better comes along.
My understanding is that a huge component of their 'Growth' funds is invested in US BigTech. Like more than half of the value... I've currently moved to a 'defensive' fund which is the only one not containing any amount of US BigTech.

@strypey I'm aware of at least one that's moving in that direction but isn't available quite yet.
