This was a really great essay by @phillmv,and I think may be interesting even if you're not in tech or working with Ruby on Rails.

It has a lot to say about what makes writing Rails apps fun, but also: power and the drive for domination and what it feels like to have rich white men who seek to dominate & control others get to destroy so much of what's nice in your life, and also have it be so plausibly deniable to people who aren't the targets of being hurt by it.

It has given me much to ponder.
