I still like the idea of @statues surfacing fun/interesting monuments, but is there anyone more knowledgeable about #wikidata who can help me filter out statues of racists?

@stefan what's the intent here? Wouldn't it be better to make people aware there are statues of racists out there?

You're not hosting the statue, or building the statue. Letting people see how often they come up seems better, to me.

Imagine seeing a statue you have noticed in your city on this account, clicking through, and reading there is such a racist statue in your city. Now imagine it doesn't create this link at all, and you never find out.

@jason That is a fair point, and there is value in that, but I would rather help people discover something fun and interesting, and worth their time.

@stefan Yeah, hard agree with you here. You don't need to be "both sides-ing" some of the worst humans of all time. Or bringing more attention to them. Or accidentally encouraging people to think they might deserve a statue.

"Fun and interesting" is a great objective.

I could keep this simple and keep a list of "controversial" historical figures, and then re-run the query if there is a match, I was just curious if there's maybe a useful Wikidata attribute I could use, or maybe a better approach overall.
