PSA that there's a racist idiot in Manchester who could show up at live coding events. Be on the lookout.
He left a comment on another post about live coding (second screenshot. I've blurred out OPs username as I don't want them to get negative attention) and then was recommended he check out a few different UK-based events. He then decided follow (Algo|Afro) Futures just to make his stupid-ass comment after realising the programme wasn't designed for him. Poor him.
For too long we were told that this space (electronic music) wasn't for us and then when we go and make our own space and now they complain we're excluding them 馃檭
I'm going to delete the comment, block him, and move on, but I still want to call him out as I know this is something that will happen more and more as live coding gets more popular.
If you're not racist (or sexist or abelist or any *ist) then great! But now is the time to also be anti racist i.e. call out and kick out racism when you see it and not wait until it's become a problem or until a Black person says it is.
