The European Commission's plans to dismantle our privacy rights are dangerous!

One of their immediate effects will be that companies won't even try to answer access requests any more. Instead, they will claim that any such request is "manifestly unfounded", and either refuse to provide or threaten to charge a fee for any further information.

For many people with no legal background and not enough money to risk legal battles, this will de facto end their right to access!

And just to be clear, I know that there already is an exception for "manifestly unfounded" request in the GDPR's current version.
The digital omnibus will add "because he or she exploits the rights conferred by this regulation" to this exception.
This will provide companies with ample leeway to claim that the exception applies.
