My little town. #Nunavut
Post
@NunavutBirder This brings back 2006 vibes for me. When I was working with Canadian Geographic on Arctic filming trip. We ended up arriving in a bay in middle of the night & it looked similar to this.
@PhoenixSerenity Where was that?
@NunavutBirder We didn't make it to the Ahaik bird sanctuary until 5 days after trying to get there because the conditions weren't safe enough.
@PhoenixSerenity It’s a great bird area.
@NunavutBirder We took a lot of bird blood & stool samples while up there, long time ago. Even back then - 1 out of every 10 tested specimens had a lot of toxins & microplastics in them.
@PhoenixSerenity probably a greater percentage now. Acquaintance of mine does a lot of work with plastics, micro and otherwise, in birds. Which reminds me, I sent her a bird a while back. Should ask what she found.
@PhoenixSerenity Susan is a special person.
@NunavutBirder @heliomass wow.
How is the cost of life up-there?
@NunavutBirder looks cool n spooky! 😸
@NunavutBirder beautiful! It has always been on my list of places to go. Maybe especially because it’s hard to get to I guess, but isn’t that half the point?
@NunavutBirder it’s so pretty!
@NunavutBirder Just a stunning photograph. The TEXTURES in it!!!
@NunavutBirder
I really like your posts on Fedi! 😬
@NunavutBirder

@NunavutBirder Enjoy the long night 🌙
Awesome Photo👍🏾
So, some sunlight can still reach you at this time of year. Reflective conditions supporting of course.
@SpaceLifeForm We get a lot of daylight. The Sun skims below the horizon right now. Even at the solstice you can’t see stars at noon.
