I often hear "does anyone need any help today?" during the daily coordination meeting, and the answer is almost always no. If anyone NEEDED help, they would have already asked for it and wouldn't be waiting until now.

The question should really be "would any of the work in progress benefit from having someone helping?" I'm sure you don't NEED help but maybe the work would get done better or faster if you had help, and if that's true, we should do exactly that.
