Whoop whoop! It's really nice to feature in @pluralistic's latest blog with a very recent paper on Google's hidden empire which you can find here: https://arxiv.org/abs/2511.02931

It's about the past and present of really bad antitrust enforcement and about how things might become even worse if competition authorities do not get their act together. This is true especially for the Google/Wiz merger that the US DOJ just waved through yesterday: https://www.reuters.com/business/googles-32-billion-deal-wiz-clears-doj-antitrust-review-wiz-ceo-tells-wsj-2025-11-05/

To be fully transparent, I do not think that just competition enforcement will be sufficient or is the only thing we should hope for.

But Big Tech companies have SO much power and are merging with the US state's interest. And so antitrust is something everyone should be able to get behind to prevent things from getting even worse.

One way of putting this is that tech capital is taking on financial capital. Both want to get the prize for being the worst force of extraction.
